15th British Kebab Awards

From semi-finals to finals

How it works

  1. 1

    Finalists are announced now

The semi-final stage is complete, and finalists in each category are being announced now. Winners will be announced on the award night, 23 February 2027, at the Park Plaza.

  2. 2

    Semi-final points are carried forward

Every finalist keeps the points they have gathered so far. These are already totalled from:

    • Public votes: 2 points each
    • MP and councillor endorsements: 250 points each
    • Google rating: 50 points per star
    • TripAdvisor rating: 50 points per star
    • Food hygiene rating: 50 points per rating (in Scotland, a “Pass” counts as 5)

Nobody starts from zero. The finals build on what each business has already earned.

  3. 3

Public voting and endorsements continue until 31 January

From today until 11:59pm on Saturday 31 January 2027:

    • Public voting stays open for finalists, and every new vote adds 2 points.
    • Endorsements are still collected. Every new endorsement from an MP or councillor adds 250 points.
  4. 4

    Judges’ meeting: 1–3 February

The independent judging panel meets from Monday 1 to Wednesday 3 February 2027. The judges will review the finalist database alongside their own research, including mystery shopping, and cast their votes in each category.

Every judge’s vote is worth 100 points, added to the finalist’s total.

Public voting rules

  • One vote per person, per category. Each person can vote once in each category. Repeat votes from the same person in the same category are removed.
  • Votes must be cast through the official BKA voting page. Votes sent by email, phone, social media or any other route won’t be counted.
  • Every vote must come from a real, identifiable person with a valid email address. Votes from fake, disposable or unverifiable emails are removed.
  • No automated or bulk voting. Bots, scripts, vote-buying, paid voting services, or multiple votes from the same device or connection in a short time will be treated as manipulation.
  • Businesses may promote their vote link to customers, staff, family and followers, and are encouraged to. But they must not vote on others’ behalf, offer rewards or discounts in exchange for votes, or ask people to vote multiple times.
  • All votes are audited before final totals are confirmed. Any unusual pattern, such as a sudden spike or many votes from the same location in minutes, will be reviewed. Votes found to be invalid are removed.
  • Breaking the rules has consequences. If manipulation is confirmed, we may remove the affected votes and deduct points, and in serious cases disqualify the finalist from the category.
  • Voting closes at 11:59pm on 31 January 2027. Votes received after this time won’t count.
  • Vote counts are confidential. Running totals won’t be published during the finals period, to keep the competition fair.
  • The organisers’ decision is final on the validity of any vote and on final results.

Endorsement rules

  • Each endorsement from a sitting MP or councillor is worth 250 points.
  • Endorsements must be verifiable: an email from their official address, or a public post on their official social media account.
  • Each person can endorse a business only once. Repeat endorsements from the same person count once.
  • Endorsements received after 11:59pm on 31 January 2027 won’t count.

Judges’ voting rules

  • Each judge casts one vote per category for the finalist they believe should win.
  • Each judge vote is worth 100 points.
  • Judges declare any conflict of interest, such as a personal or business link to a finalist, and don’t vote in that category.
  • Judges’ votes are cast during the meeting from 1 to 3 February and stay confidential until the winners are announced on the award night.
