To some they may be a guilty pleasure. For others a drunken late-night fix. But one things for sure - Wales is not short on kebab shops.

There are now more than 20,000 kebab outlets in the UK selling around 2,500 tonnes of lamb and chicken doner a week.

But where is the best place to indulge in the great Middle Eastern staple?

Lucky for you kebab fans, the British Kebab Awards, now in its fourth year, has announced nine of the best kebab restaurants in Wales.

Awards held in March

Nominations were sought across a variety of categories including best value restaurant, best takeaway, best new restaurant and chef of the year. The awards honour the classic takeaway through to the growing number of family restaurants serving kebab style food.

A panel of judges including MPs Jonathan Reynolds, Nadhim Zahawi and Keith Vaz will help decide the winners of each category.

The awards, which will be held in March 2016, are sponsored by the UK’s largest takeaway website JUST EAT, as well as Big K, Paragon Qualities Food, Cobra Beer and Bulldog Energy Drinks, with the aim of showcasing the wide range of restaurants serving kebab styled food.
