The British Kebab Awards Shortlist Is Out And Manchester's Among The Best
Kebabs are one of those foods that so many of us enjoy - late at night when we're tired and hungry.
But there is an artistry to a good kebab, and the newly-revealed British Kebab Awards nominations show that Manchester's not too shabby at them.
Now in the fifth year of the awards, Seref Dursun of Deansgate's Topkapi Palace in the running for chef of the year - and he's going up against chef Erhan Karakoc, of Royton's Istanblue, in a list of 10.
The Just Eat best delivery category recognises Kebabalicious in Wythenshawe, while the best regional kebab house in the North West could go to Turkish Delight on Barlow Moor Road or Topkapi Palace in Prestwich
In the best regional takeaway category, Panicos Turkish Takeaway on Barlow Moor Road flies the flag for Greater Manchester.
And Istanblue is also up for best newcomer restaurant or takeaway outside London and in the fine dining restaurant category.
The winners will be revealed at a swanky award ceremony on February 26 in London's Westminster Park Plaza Hotel.
