Simon Danczuk backs local kebab shop for top award
Simon Danczuk MP has nominated his favourite local kebab restaurant, Istanblue on Milkstone Road, in the third annual British Kebab Awards and is urging local residents to nominate their favourite kebab shop.
The British Kebab Awards, now in their third year, will be held in January 2015 and aim to showcase the wide range of restaurants serving kebab styled food.
Mr Danczuk said: “Kebabs are a popular choice for many people in Rochdale and the food industry contributes a lot to the local economy. This is a great opportunity to put forward your favourite kebab restaurant in Rochdale and to see if we can make them a national winner.”
Erhan Karakoc from Istanblue said: “It was fantastic to welcome Simon Danczuk MP to Istanblue and we are delighted that he has nominated us for this award. Everyone at Istanblue has worked hard to make our business a success and we hope we can do well in this competition and show that Rochdale is home to some great kebab shops.”
According to research carried out by the British Kebab Awards, almost 1.3m portions of doner kebabs are sold by kebab vendors every day in the UK.
