A Bushey kebab shop has been shortlisted in the Best Value category in the British Kebab Awards.

Meze Mangal in High Road, Bushey Heath, is one of the kebab houses around the country that are competing against a number of other business in the country for the award.

The judging panel includes MPs Nadhim Zahawi and Keith Vaz who will decide the winners in each category.

Ibrahim Dogus, founder of the British Kebab Awards, said: “Now in their fourth year, the British Kebab Awards are going from strength to strength.

“It is fantastic that we have this opportunity to recognise the work of businesses across the country, as well as highlight how varied the British kebab industry is, and the important contribution it makes to the economy.”

Kebabs are now a British institution with an estimated 1.3 million sold every day. Categories in the British Kebab Awards range from Best Takeaway to Best Restaurant and even Best Fine Dining experience.

Graham Corfield, UK managing director of awards sponsor JUST EAT, said: “The kebab industry has a special place in the nation’s hearts, yet let’s not forget the phenomenal economic contribution it makes to the UK as well.

“With more and more consumers craving choice and healthy options, the kebab industry has continued to deliver.

“We’re proud to work alongside restaurants in the kebab industry, and help them build on generations of hard work and passion.”
