Harlow kebab takeaway on shortlist for top industry award
A kebab takeaway in Harlow is on the shortlist for a top industry award.
Harlow Kebab, at Clifton Hatch, is in the running for the Best Takeaway Outside London category at the British Kebab Awards.
It faces competition from seven other takeaways, including the Curipza Takeaway in Bishop's Stortford.
Ibrahim Dogus, founder of the British Kebab Awards, said: "Now in their fourth year, the British Kebab Awards are going from strength to strength.
"It is fantastic that we have this opportunity to recognise the work of businesses across the country, as well as highlight how varied the British kebab industry is, and the important contribution it makes to the economy."
Graham Corfield, UK managing director of awards sponsor JUST EAT, said:"With more and more consumers craving choice and healthy options, the kebab industry has continued to deliver."
More than 1.3m kebabs are sold in the UK every day. The first kebab shop opened in north London in 1966 and there are now over 20,000 outlets across the country.
