Five North East restaurants in the running for the British Kebab Awards - how to vote for them
Celebrating all that's great in the kebab industry, the British Kebab Awards are back for a sixth year with five North East restaurants nominated.
It’s the Oscars of the kebab world and there are five local restaurants in the running for this year’s British Kebab Awards.
In their sixth year, the awards, founded and organised by the Centre for Turkey Studies, aim to shed light on the kebab industry, to recognise the cultural and economic contributions that various restaurants, suppliers and workers make to the UK.
The British Kebab Awards honour the dedication, hard work and commitment of individuals who have helped the growing passion for kebabs spread throughout the UK.
And a handful of North East restaurants will be hoping to take home trophies from the ceremony held at London’s Park Plaza hotel next month.
Whitley Bay’s Turknaz and Elder & Wolf are up against each other for Best Kebab Restaurant Regional alongside eight other eateries from across the country. Elder & Wolf returned home with silverware from last year's event after being named the Best Newcomer.
’la Turkish Barbecue Restaurant & Grill in Birtley is in the running for the Customer Satisfaction Award; Newcastle Airport’s Pita & Brew is in the final 10 for Best Newcomer and Akarsu Turkish Restaurant & Grill in Durham is up for Best Value Restaurant.
You can help all five to victory by casting a vote for them on the British Kebab Awards website.
