Corbyn skips a grilling
The owners of the Irmak BBQ in Dunstable can sympathise with the producers of La La Land. They, too, were cruelly denied the glory at an awards night on Sunday after being announced as best delivery service at the British Kebab Awards in Westminster, an event every bit as glitzy as the Oscars, if a little more greasy. The Irmak, it turned out, was only supposed to have been “highly commended” in the category and had to hand over first prize to a kebabery from Leeds. Jeremy Corbyn, a falafel enthusiast, was due to attend the awards but pulled out after the skewering he got in the Copeland by-election on Thursday. How pittaful.
