‘I am not going to be bloody kebabbed'


Former Labour leader Neil Kinnock was guest of honour at the British Kebab Awards.

Why was his lordship chosen for this signal honour? Possibly because he unwittingly publicised the tasty snack in 1991, telling Radio 4’s James Naughtie, who was being uncharacteristically confrontational on air: ‘I am not going to be bloody kebabbed.’
