7th British Kebab Awards (2019)
The prestigious British Kebab Awards will be taking place on the 18th of March to celebrate growth, popularity and success of the kebab industry in Britain.
Previous Awards ceremonies have been attended by MPs Lords, journalists and celebrities. Over 1200 guests including more than 300 MPs, Lords, Baronesses and Councillors, and 800 businesses and community representatives attended the awards ceremony.
At the 6th British Kebab Awards, winners were presented their awards by distinguished figures from across the worlds of politics media and business, including Frances O’Grady, General Secretary of the Trade Union Council; Lord Bilimoria, founder of Cobra Beer; and Jim Pickard, Chief Political Correspondent for the Financial Times.
Other notable guests included Nadhim Zahawi, Parliamentary Under-Secretary for Education, Angela Rayner, Shadow Secretary of State for Education; Iain McNicol, General Secretary of the Labour Party; and Mick Whelan, General Secretary of ASLEF.
Several members of the new All-Party Parliamentary Group on British Turks and Kurds were also present, including Chair of the APPG Dan Carden MP, Vice-Chairs Sir David Amess MP, Tom Brake MP and Lord Watts, alongside Tracy Brabin MP, Alex Sobel MP and. Siobhain McDonagh MP.
They were joined by media personalities such as the BBC’s John Pienaar and Sky New’s Faisal Islam, and journalists from the New Statesman, the Spectator, the Wall Street Journal, the Telegraph, the Times, the Sun and the Mirror.
